Here is a family photo of one of my favorite families! I'm looking forward to delivering their photo order so that I can eat at their restaurant: Montero's in Elizabeth City:)

I have been spring cleaning my office, organizing my desk, and cleaning up my computer this week. This means that I finally found a place for all of the random files and folders on my computer desktop, and even took my new external hard drive out of the box and plugged it in! In the middle of all of this organizing I came across a blog post from Cool Mom Tech called 5 ways to spring clean your computer that should help you all clean up your computers inside and out. And then I realized that the handy hard drive cleaning programs wouldn't work with my apple computer, so I found this list to help clean up my mac: How to Clean Up a Mac Hard Drive. So I feel like I'm about to be so productive in my newly organized office and cleaned up computer, when I hear my husband calling for me because there's something popping up on the laptop...looks like another virus! So instead of being productive this morning I'm fighting a virus on what used to be my laptop. I think I am ready to completely gift my lovely Dell laptop to my husband and purchase a pretty new MacBook to coordinate with my iMac...and then once my cell phone contract is up maybe I can trade my Blackberry for an iPhone. The photo that I posted above is what I think my office should look like once I finish cleaning, and once I buy my new organizational furniture pieces as well (if I ever get around to ordering the furniture, I'll let you know how hard they are to put together)...and then maybe one day I will have my dream team of electronic devices as well. Coming soon, I will post some before and after office photos.
Was it really warm enough to wear sundresses and run around barefoot a week ago? Well, it's spring and we enjoy the warm days when we get them...and we aren't getting them this week! I have been photographing this beautiful family for a few years now, and they get prettier every time I see them.
Do you need to update your family photo? I'll be shooting mini-sessions at this same location (Island Farm in Manteo) on Sunday April 10th, so send me an e-mail if you are interested.
January is almost over, and I can't help but be excited about one of my favorite holidays that is coming soon! June is getting into the spirit by wearing her Christmas outfits a second time around. I bought so much red for her at Christmas that I don't know if I'm allowed to buy any special Valentine outfits this year. And I always love buying Valentine's outfits (ask my husband and he will tell you I love to buy ANYTHING). My favorite places to buy Valentine clothing for kids: Old Navy, Janie & Jack, and of course our favorite local store is Charlotte's. In these photos June is sporting her pea coat & denim skirt from Old Navy (no longer available), with tights and shoes from Charlotte's. I'm also planning to recycle Cal's red & white gingham shirt and his red corduroy shirt from Christmas. It's always so hard to find cute Valentine themed clothing for boys! I did find lots of cute Valentine favors that we will be giving out at our silhouette event on February 13th. Be sure to stop by even if you aren't having a silhouette done, Charlotte's will be open for shopping from 1 to 4 p.m. (the shop is usually closed on Sunday) and will be giving out treats and offering lots of great deals.
Amy Dixon Photography will be at Charlotte's boutique on Sunday, February 13th doing silhouette sessions from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Don't miss this opportunity to have a precious keepsake made. Call 252-207-3726 or e-mail info@amydixonphotography.com to make an appointment. Cost is $75 and includes a pair of 5x7 silhouettes printed on fine art paper.
Charlotte's will be having a special one day sale on new spring merchandise, so plan on getting some shopping done too! We hope to see you soon.
I had to keep these photos a secret since they were a surprise Christmas present, but now I have something new to post during the dreary month of January! We had fun touring around the stage at Waterside Theatre (home to the Lost Colony outdoor drama during the summer). I have been photographing this handsome fella since he was a little baby, and he just keeps getting cuter.
